If you want to purchase a particular instrument but for whatever reason need more time to get the money together, you can place an instrument on hold by making a deposit. The deposit may be made by money order, cashier's check, or by PayPal, and is 25% of the asking price.

When you place an instrument on hold, you have a maximum of 60 days from the day you place the instrument on hold to come up with the balance (of course you can pay off the balance anytime during the 60-day period as well). This 60 day limit can't be extended for any reason (fire, earthquakes, swarm of locusts, etc.) and the 25% deposit is not refundable.

We don't like to be cruel, but in order for us to be able to offer the convenience of "holds through deposits", we can't afford to wait indefinitely for late payments. Placing an instrument on hold represents a commitment to purchase, and any hold that fails to be reconciled within this 60-day period results in the loss of the entire deposit.

Also, please note that by placing an instrument on hold, the buyer waives their right to a 48-hour trial period. For this reason, please be sure to ask all questions before placing an item on hold.
